ACEC Actively Engages in Renewable Energy and Grid Integration Discussions at Asia LEDS Forum 2024

In August, ACEC had the privilege of participating in the Asia LEDS Partnership Forum 2024, held in Bangkok, which brought together key players in the energy and sustainability space from across Asia. The event was an incredible opportunity for ACEC to engage in critical discussions surrounding renewable energy adoption and grid integration, two essential elements for Asia’s energy transition.

Our team, including Dr. Jennifer Chen, Senior Leader Team member Mark Hutchinson, and esteemed representatives from the Steering Committee of ACEC led conversations advocating for the increased adoption of renewable energy across the region. A key focus was on the importance of innovative renewable energy procurement mechanisms, emphasizing the need for diversification to accelerate corporate RE adoption.

A highlight of the forum was ACEC’s active participation in the ASEAN Power Grid stakeholder consultations, facilitated by the United Nations ESCAP and the ASEAN Centre for Energy. These consultations were pivotal in exploring cross-border collaboration to integrate renewable energy into the ASEAN Power Grid, aimed at enhancing regional energy efficiency and sustainability. ACEC stressed the importance of cooperative, cross-border initiatives to unlock the full potential of renewable energy and ensure energy security across the region.

The discussions also underscored the urgent need to address regulatory challenges, streamline grid connections, and improve investment frameworks to expedite renewable energy grid integration. Our engagement at the Asia LEDS Forum reaffirmed ACEC’s commitment to driving impactful, scalable, and collaborative renewable energy solutions across Asia.
